Kite Hydrofoil

Kite hydrofoiling, considered the new frontier for kitesurfing, is undergoing strong growth and increasingly attracting interest. The very low friction of the board in the water allows you to glide at very high speeds, even with little wind. The hydrodynamic characteristics of the foil require a smaller kite than the classic raceboards, consequently you get even greater maneuverability, speed and fun!

Very few people know that Sardinia has one of the best spots in Europe to learn kite hydrofoiling. This special place is the Bay of Oristano (Mare Morto). In the shadow of the hill of Tharros and its ancient Greek ruins the sea is calm but the wind is constant, creating the perfect combination for learning and practicing kite hydrofoiling. The results are of the highest quality.

Since May of 2018, when the Kite’n’Di School began offering hydrofoil lessons, it became immediately clear that the characteristics and natural combinations of the bay of Oristano are perfect for this sport. This place is now referred to as “The Spot”!

Those who have more experience can go beyond the bay and cover long distances in optimal conditions along the Sardinian coast, accompanied only by the sound of wind and the silent flow of water under the foil.

Locally there are two pioneers of this sport, Enrico Giordano & Enrico Tiana. Together, they provide guidance and guarantee that Sardinia’s Bay of Oristano is a “must” destination for kite hydrofoiling. Their latest kite hydrofoiling ventures are remarkable. Check them out here!
